A George II Silver Salver by George Hindmarsh, London 1734

£1,750

A very fine silver salver of circular form with shaped rim and the whole resting on four scroll feet. The centre embossed & chased with foliate scroll decoration.

Hallmarked for London 1734 by George Hindmarsh.

This is in superb condition with no repairs with very clear definition to the decoration. The decoration is very probably original and is keeping with both design and technique of the period.

A tiny pinprick hole to the centre, this is where the original centre punch mark has worn through.

Hallmarks are clear however the maker’s mark is partially rubbed.

This salver is of a good gauge and has a wonderful colour and patina.

This is a great opportunity to acquire a truly wonderful piece of increasingly rare early George II silver.
