Clearly marked for London 1740 by Robert Abercromby.

This is an exceptionally fine salver in the very finest original condition. No sign of any damage or repair and no erasure. Made, as were all his salvers, of very good robust gauge silver.  The hallmarks clearly struck as is the scratch weight. Some wear to the makers mark, or more probably slightly misstruck. Stands flat upon a table top. Very minor signs of use. Very fine colour and patina . A Very good example of this exceptionally important maker's silversmithing.
