A Superb George IV Silver 3-Light Candelabra and Candlesticks Table Suite
A superb table suite featuring a pair of 3-light candelabra with an accompanying pair of smaller candlesticks. All decorated in the Rococo manner with scrolling foliage, shells and roses, surmounted with a thistle decorated central snuffer. The decoration is reminiscent of William Dunbar’s poem ‘The Thistle and the Rose’.
All pieces are clearly hallmarked. The Candelabra bases Sheffield 1826 by Waterhouse, Hodgson & Co. The arms Sheffield 1837 by Samuel Walker & Co. The smaller candlesticks Sheffield 1829 by K G & Co.
The suite is in overall superb condition, and would make a superb standout feature for your dining table. Some pin-prick holes to the raised decoration, superb patina and colour.
