A superb high quality twin-handled George III silver tray of oval form. The cast and applied border with gadrooned rim. The two handles of conforming pattern. The central plate with an armorial in a shield beneath a dragon and the Latin inscription: " Decus Atque Decens". This is surrounded by richly patterned engraved arabesques.

This is a wonderful Georgian tray in excellent original condition. Good gauge silver of the finest workmanship. No damage or repair. One or two tiny surface scratches to the plate but these have to be looked for and are very minor. The hallmarks are clear. Superb colour and patina.
