A spectacular large silver Victorian tea or drinks tray of oval form. The pierced galleried border with beaded edge and ornate cast silver handles with shell and scroll decoration, the central plate decorated with floral arabesques about a vacant cartouche . Crested to the top with a sheaf of corn.
Clearly marked to the reverse for Sheffield 1859 by Martin Hall and Co.
This is a large, robust and extremely attractive Victorian tray in absolutely original condition with no damage and no repair. Very good construction of robust gauge silver and superb workmanship . Very little wear to the central plate. The crest marginally more rubbed. The hallmarks absolutely clear. A stupendous piece of silver.
