The body above an applied girdle delicately bright cut engraved with flowers.Conforming decoration to the underside of the spout and the top of the thumbpiece. The whole standing on a circular reeded foot.
The underside clearly marked for London 1844 by Charles Thomas Fox and George Fox. Partial marks to the lid, finial, retaining nut and handle.
The teapot is in excellent original condition. The lid closes well and there is no side movement to the hinge. The handle is firm. The marks are all clear. One very small dent to the handle just below the thumbpiece. The inside is fairly clean. All in all a very fine piece from important makers of the Fox family.
