Very fine early Victorian silver pedestal table centrepiece, pierced and decorated with floral cast rim and three cast acanthus and shell form feet. Supporting a wide hobnail cut lead crystal bowl. The upper part of the silver stand can be unscrewed for easier cleaning.
Both parts clearly marked for Birmingham 1845 by Robinson, Edkins and Aston.
This is a highly attractive and unusual silver and glass table centrepiece made in the very early days of Victoria's reign. The silver is of extremely good quality and good gauge with no damage, no repair and a high definition to the cast parts. Stands evenly on the table. The glass bowl is of the very finest quality. Hand cut with intricate starburst patterns. An altogether delightful piece of decorative tableware.
