A Superb Pair of George III Cast Silver Candlesticks London 1772, by John Arnell
£0
A very fine pair of cast silver table candlesticks of shaped square form with shell corners. The tapered fluted column with a flared knop and a spool shaped capital. Conforming shell cornered sconces.
Marked for London 1772 by John Arnell to each base. Each capital marked with the Lion Passant. One sconce marked with the maker's mark.
These are cast candlesticks of the highest order. Both are in excellent original condition with no sign of damage or repair. The hallmarks are clearly struck, though one maker's mark is faint. One of the Lion Passant marks to the capitals is more worn than the other. Altogether an extremely good pair of elegant Georgian candlesticks with lovely colour and patina.
