An excellent quality George III solid silver entree dish of shaped rectangular cushion form.
Decorated with gadrooned borders to base and cover, both have an engraved crest - see pictures. The removable cast silver handle with matching decoration.
Clearly hallmarked for London 1810 by John Foskett & John Stewart to the base and lid. The handle is marked with the duty & lion passant marks.
The base, lid and handle are marked with 2.
The dish is in excellent condition with no repairs or erasures.
Excellent gauge silver with minor surface marks from use. Hallmarks are all clearly struck.
The lid sits well on the base and the removable handle fits the lid tightly and is in superb order.
Lovely colour and patina.
