A rare George I Britannia Standard silver hot milk or chocolate pot. Of tapered form, domed cover surmounted by a ball finial. A turned fruitwood handle to side.
Hallmarked for London 1720 by Gabriel Sleath.
Fine overall condition, wonderful patina consistent with age and very good gauge. Possible repair to inside of the lid, but no other damage or alterations to mention.
Hallmarks are well struck to the underneath and are very clear along with a scratch weight of 8oz 2dwt.
This is a rare piece of early 18th century silver by a superb maker who specialised in chocolate, tea and coffee pots.
