A very good quality silver and cut glass claret jug or wine decanter of onion form. The silver collar with bead and scroll decoration. The handle with leaf capped decoration and the lid with vine leaf finial. The glass body with raised bead decoration to the neck and leaf, pendant and star engraving to the bulbous part. Star cut base.
Marked to the collar, handle and lid for London 1869 by Richards and Brown (Edward Charles Brown).
This is an extremely good claret jug in original condition with a handle that depresses to open the lid. The mechanism is in perfect working order. The hinge to the lid is good. The silver parts are all good without any damage or repair. The glass body is in excellent order with no damage.
This is a very attractive and elegant claret jug of good capacity.
