A Very Fine George II Silver Coffee Pot London 1758

A Very good George II silver coffee pot of baluster form. Swan neck spout with fluted mounting. Domed baluster lid with fluted acorn finial. Double C scroll fruitwood handle. The foot of raised gadrooned form.

Marked to the top of the body for London 1758 by Thomas Whipham and Charles Wright. The lid marked with a lion passant to the inner lip.

The pot is an extremely good example of unadorned 18th century silverware. The whole piece is in excellent condition with no damage and no repair. The handle has no splits or chips and sits firmly in its original mountings. The hinge to the lid is excellent with no movement to either side. There are no engravings and no monograms, neither has it been erased.  In absolutely original condition it sits flat on a tabletop and is very clean to the inside.
Very attractive and robust piece of domestic silverware.
