A Pair of George IV Silver Sauce Boats, London 1820 by Paul Storr
This rare pair of silver sauce boats are of large bellied oval form with a gadrooned rim sweeping round the down swept pouring lip. C-scroll handle topped with cast acanthus leaf decoration. Standing on three cast, acanthus topped, lion’s paw feet.
Each sauce boat is hallmarked to the underside for London 1820 by Paul Storr.
This pair of sauce boats are in extremely good condition with no damage or repairs. The hallmarks are clear with some rubbing (see pictures). Of a very good gauge and they have a wonderful colour and patina and stand true. The workmanship is exquisite as to be expected by the finest silversmith of the 19th century.
