A Superb Victorian Silver Candelabra/Candlesticks Table Suite
A Superb Victorian Silver Candelabra/Candlesticks Table Suite, Hawksworth & Eyre
A superb Victorian Adam's style, silver candelabra/candlesticks table suite. Comprising of a 5-light candelabra and 4 candlesticks by Hawksworth & Eyre made in Sheffield between 1893 - 1899.
Each with fluted stems with raised reed band over a spreading, fluted foot with red decoration to the borders. The urn-shaped capitals and sconces are similarly decorated. The candelabra has four elegantly twisted arms with urn capitals and a raised central stem surmounted with a sconce with a removable stopper. All decorated in the same manner as the rest of the suite. The candelabra branch is removable to allow the main stem to be used as a candlestick.
All pieces are clearly hallmarked for Sheffield by Hawksworth and Eyre.
The 5-light candelabra is date marked for 1895, 1 pair of candlesticks is dated 1893 and the other pair is dated 1899.
All the sticks are marked with an identical pattern number - 10892.
All in exceptional condition, good gauge of silver and a lovely patina. This suite creates a wonderful focal-point for those special dining occasions.
