A beautiful silver Victorian coffee pot of fluted pear-shaped form surmounted with vine and grape cast decoration with swan neck spout and scroll handle, both with cast anthemion design.
The domed lid with a lovely cast rose finial. One side engraved with a monogram (see pictures).
The whole standing on a raised circular foot.
 
Hallmarked for Sheffield 1868 by Martin, Hall & Co. The lid, handle, finial & nut are marked with the lion passant and makers mark.
The marks are clear and very well struck.
 
This very attractive coffee pot in absolutely original condition with no damage, erasures or repairs.
 
The gauge of the silver is very good and the lid fits extremely well with no lateral movement to the hinge. The handle is firm with only minimal ageing signs to the spacers.
A few very minor bruises to the lower bulbous part of the body which are hardly noticeable.
Excellent detail to the decoration.
 
This beautiful coffee pot is of a good gauge and has a lovely colour and patina. By highly collectable makers of very fine Victorian coffee pots.
