A Good Set of Four Early Victorian Silver Candlesticks Sheffield 1841 and 1848
£0
A Very good and imposing set of silver table candlesticks each on a shaped circular shell scrolled base below a leaf and shell decorated baluster stem supporting a campana socket. Conforming shell scrolled sconces. Original baize to bases.
Three of the sticks marked for Sheffield 1848 by Padley, Parkin & Co. One marked Sheffield 1841 by Henry Wilkinson & Co. Clearly marked on all four sticks to the base and to the sconces.
These are an extremely fine set of candlesticks of exceptionally good quality with only very minor signs of wear. All four stand true on the table top. The marks are clear and though one stick is marked for another maker, they all absolutely identical and were obviously produced from the same pattern.
